tanzania ITINERARY – part 1.
This is a rough run down for part 1 of my Tanzania 11 day trip. I did a week of volunteering where I taught English in a Masai village school, organized by Projects Abroad. For a run down of my full experience teaching watch my YouTube video here: TEACHING ENGLISH IN TANZANIA
DAY 1
- Early arrival into Kilimanjaro airport
- Picked up from airport – transport arranged by Projects Abroad
- Sorted out my SIM on my phone
- Taken to my Accommodation – Stayed with a lovely host family for the week
- Met up with the other volunteers from around the world
DAY 2
- Early breakfast @ 6:45am
- Public transport to school w/Project Abroad Mentor – Dala Dalas & off road jeep.
- Met the teachers & kiddies at the school
- I assisted with middle class – Counting, marking books, reading
- Dinner by Mama Chikita
DAY 3
- Journey to school – public transport on our own this time!
- Middle class again – Dancing @ school, using our speakers – super cute!
- Went across to the women’s maternity hospital
- Travel home
- Tattoo shop – Got my elephant tattoo lol
- Dinner & Bed
DAY 4
- School day again
- Teaching middle school
- Assisted with serving the kiddies lunch
- Dinner & Bed
DAY 5
- School day
- Visited the local Maasi homes, had tea with the ladies in the tribes and met their super cute newborn babies!
- Gave out lollies to everyone
- Swahili lesson at another host families house
- Hand made samosas…yummy
- Evening out with all the volunteers
DAY 6
- Final day teaching at the school
- Assisted with baby class and high class
- Went to Muzungu coffees – recommend!
- Explored the markets
